Privacy Policy – Meet Recorder

Meet Recorder is a Chrome/Brave browser extension that records Google Meet audio and saves it to your local device or your own Google Drive. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is used.

Data we access

• Audio captured during a Google Meet session. Audio is encoded to MP3 entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to any external server.
• Your Google account identity. Used only to authenticate with Google Drive on your behalf when you choose to save recordings there.
• Your Google Drive folders. Read only to let you pick a destination folder. The extension only writes the MP3 files you explicitly save.

Data we do not collect

Meet Recorder has no backend server. It does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, recordings, or usage information with the developer or any third party.

Google Drive access

When you enable Google Drive saving, the extension requests the following OAuth scopes:

• drive.file – to upload MP3 recordings to a folder you choose
• drive.metadata.readonly – to list folders in My Drive for the folder picker
• drive.readonly – to list Shared Drives, only if you opt in to Shared Drives access

These permissions are used solely to provide the features described above. Tokens are stored locally in your browser and are never sent to the developer.

Local storage

The extension stores your preferences (save destination, selected folder, sign-in token) in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. This data never leaves your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
